2. Sustainability of evolution models

Sustainability is of three kinds:

  • Sustainability of Process
In non-living process-based systems, sustainability means “maintaining the process” and “ensuring performance to specifications” across time and circumstances (eg.: process plants or urban systems).
  • Sustainability of Ecology
In living, trans-human systems, sustainability means maintaining the systemic or ecological balance across all the constituents (eg: nature).
  • Sustainability of Evolution
In living, human systems, sustainability means maintaining the capacity of the system and its individuals to survive challenges, grow in the face of adversity, and evolve in its own capacity to serve their “reason for being”.

Illumine has developed approaches to model sustainable evolution in complex systems that allow leaders to road-map change in unique new ways.
